AkelPad là chương trình soạn thảo văn bản mã nguồn mở với kích thước cực kì nhỏ gọn và tốc độ nhanh. AkelPad không giới hạn kích thước file text được chỉnh sửa, hỗ trợ tốt các font chữ unicode, các loại kí tự xuống dòng trong nhiều hệ điều hành, cho phép chọn văn bản theo cột, undo nhiều cấp, và đặc biệt là có 1 số lượng plugin lớn, chuyên dùng để mở rộng các chức năng như tô sáng từ khóa (khi soạn thảo các file của các ngôn ngữ lập trình), tự động hoàn thành chữ đang gõ, tạo các macro, …

AkelPad – is an open source editor for plain text. It is designed to be a small and fast.

* Editing of files, which size is more than 64K (generally speaking, size isn’t theoretically limited);
* Full support of Unicode strings on Unicode systems (NT/2000/XP/2003);
